George Martin Sent Actor Jack Gleeson A Letter…

jof

HBO’s ‘Game of Thrones’ is a popular fantasy series based on the books of George R.R. Martin. Little known fact is that the author was first contacted by the movie industry which asked to buy the rights in order to turn the series into a film but Martin declined, stating that “they would have to cut so much off, there would be nothing left”. So he took HBO’s offer and has later expressed his content with what the TV network created out of his works.
George Martin has spoken highly of Jack Gleeson calling him “a charming and friendly young man”. Clearly, his opinion of Jack’s acting skills is even higher as he sent him a letter congratulating him on his performance as Joffrey Baratheon, the Crown Prince of the Seven Kingdoms, adding that his portraying of the character was so realistic that everyone hated him.
